Biography

Jake Polonsky has won numerous awards for his work as a cinematographer. He was recognized as the Best Young Camera/Lighting Person of 2002 by Broadcast Magazine, and in the same year received a Gold Arrow at the British Advertising Awards. Jake also received his first CADS Music Vision Awards nomination for Best Cinematography in 2002, winning the award in 2004 for the Si&Ad directed Chikinki promo (he was further nominated in 2005 and 2006).

 

Jake was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, which enabled him to attend the Cinematography program at the American Film Institute. He completed his studies at the Royal College of Art, graduating with a cinematographer's MA in Film & Television.

 

A recipient of the Freddie Young/BSC Cinematography Scholarship while at the RCA, Jake has also been a winner of the Arriflex Award for Cinematography in the Fuji Scholarship Competition.

 

Jake has a first class honours degree in English and Modern History, which he studied at Oxford University.
